C60 & CBD — Should you try it?
Biohacker Review: Tranquilizing and Super-Antioxidizing!
I received my package of C60/hemp oil extract. This was the first time I had tried a CBD product. It comes in a laboratory-grade, tinted glass bottle. I took about a half tablespoon of the stuff, it tastes not bad like the other C60 olive oil solution I tried.
I noticed a subtle, anxiolytic effect within just a few minutes of dosing. I did it in the evening and read for about an hour, feeling very relaxed but I actually did not sleep well that night. This is probably because I listened to a very disturbing podcast while I was laying in bed (probably not the best habit) that kept me up for about an hour and then my thoughts were racing.
The next day after making love to my wife I did another half tablespoon, laid down, and proceeded to have the best night of sleep that I’ve had in quite a long while. I awoke feeling great!
One Sunday I did a double workout, an hour of weightlifting, and 2 hours of yoga (suffering!) and needed some seriously recuperative sleep, I did almost a full tablespoon (60 milligrams of hemp extract and 10 milligrams of C60) around 11 PM, my wife gave me a nice massage, I got very sleepy, read a few pages of a book and fell asleep. I woke the next day around 7:30 AM, a little earlier than usual for me, feeling really well-rested.
This CBD oil is one of the best sleep hacks I’ve ever tried! Although, I don’t think that you can use it to make up for bad sleep hygiene the way you might with, say, Melatonin. If you stay up too late staring at a bright glowing screen or drink way too much coffee in the late afternoon I don’t think this CBD product is going to save you from the crappy sleep you deserve! But if you’re smart about your sleep; put away the technology and turn off the bright lights in your room 60–90 minutes before bed CBD will take your restorative sleep to the next level.
I found CBD to be a decent social lubricant during a 60 day period of no-boozing, it’s nice to have something to take the edge off. I did 2/3 of a teaspoon before date night and going to a cocktail party with the Mrs. and while it allowed me to unwind a bit, take my mind off work and enjoy the evening. Phenibut is still my go-to booze-alternative but a small dose of CBD works nicely to put me in a more social mood. This anxiolytic effect persisted for about 4 hours.
