Far too often, people see fit to remind us, "I'm an intelligent person" when they do something really dumb. Which reveals a dangerous lack of self-awareness.

One of my favorite Youtube shows contains glaring examples of this in nearly every episode. Catfished here tells the stories of people who were duped by terribly obvious romance scammers. After it's revealed that they were scammed they almost always say something like "I can't believe I let this happen. I'm an intelligent person"
